Mr. Gihana represents clients before the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) and Immigration Courts throughout the United States.

Mr. Gihana has first-hand experience on what it feels like to be an immigrant. First, he was born in the Democratic Republic of Congo as a son of refugee parents who fled ethnic violence in their home country of Rwanda.

Later, Mr. Gihana also lived as an international student pursuing his legal education, first in Brussels, Belgium where he graduated at the “Universite Libre de Brussels”, then in Sacramento, California where he graduated with a master’s degree in Transnational Business Law at the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law.

Mr. Gihana’s prior experience includes working for an international IT solution consulting firm, CGI and for an international business organization, the Northern California World Trade Centre.

After seeing the plight of refugees, migrant workers and many other immigration crises around the world, such as the Syrian refugees and unaccompanied minors from Central America, Mr. Gihana felt compelled to practice immigration law with the goal of assisting people achieve their own immigration desires.

Mr. Gihana is licensed to practice law in the State of New York and authorized to practice immigration law throughout the United States.

Mr Gihana is a fierce advocate for immigrants in general and volunteers his time as an Attorney at the San Francisco Immigration Court for unrepresented immigrants in deportation/removal proceedings.

In his free time, Mr. Gihana is very active in the community promoting cross cultural exchange and diversity as a member the Steering Committee of the World Affairs Council, Sacramento Chapter. He enjoys traveling the world, always ready for new thrill seeking adventures, and new cultural activities.

Ms. Montes is passionate about serving the Latino community. While in school she volunteered for the Humanizando La Deportación, a UC Davis project that gives people who have been deported from the US the tools to tell their narratives in the form of videos.

She double majored in Spanish and Sociology with an emphasis on Law and Society.

As an undergraduate student and now graduate, Ms. Sánchez devotes her time to public service. She has held positions where she worked with underprivileged communities through roles as a mentor, community advisor, & tutor.
Ms. Sánchez interned at the Office of Congresswoman Doris Matsui where she got to oversee immigration related casework & learn how immigration policies can affect people’s lives. She has also done volunteer work for a multi-media project called Humanizando la Deportación, which allows immigrants in the U.S to share their traumatic experiences with deportation through visual narratives.
